MY CONTRIBUTION

Concept Development (with team) - Game Design - Prototyping - Testing

The concept and narrative were developed collaboratively with two classmates.

I was responsible for designing and testing game mechanics and puzzles, iterating based on play testing to create a clear and engaging player experience.

THE STORY

In 2189, the Helix Oceanic Research Station sinks to the bottom of the Norwegian Sea. All 47 crew members survive, but no one can agree on what caused the disaster.

Corporate

negligence?

Environmental sabotage?

Or something else entirely?

They enter one.
They believe it.
They challenge it.
And they break out.

Two opposing narrative emerge. Both have evidence.

Both seem convincing. But neither has the full story.

The Helix incident puts players inside

an echo chamber, challenging them to question information, collaborate, and uncover the truth.

THE CONCEPT

THE CONCEPT

Rather than explaining echo chambers,

the experience lets players experience

one first-hand.

Different players receive different

information, each supporting a particular

narrative. To escape they must question

sources, verify facts, and step outside

their assumptions.

THE EXPERIENCE

Players investigate clues, analyze documents, and solve puzzles that reveal how information can be manipulated.

No one has the full picture alone. Communication and collaboration are essential to reconstruct what really happened.

THE REVEAL

The truth is more complex than either side claimed.

A combination of technical failures, environmental factors, human error,

and organizational decisions let to

the disaster.

And Echo, the AI guiding the teams, has been feeding them half-truths all along to keep them divided.
